Winter is everyone’s favourite season, but what most people hate about winters is the dryness it brings along. Flaky skin on face, cracked heels, chapped lips hence every part of the body becomes super dry. And if you are someone with sensitive skin your skin won’t take in most commercially manufactured moisturising products. In that case what you can do is try these simple methods to make moisturisers and lip balms at home.

How to make moisturisers at home?

It may seem like a huge jargon, but trust us when we say it is super simple to make moisturisers at home. Follow along to know how you can make moisturisers at home:

1. Coconut oil moisturiser

To make this simple moisturiser you need these things:

  • ½ cup coconut oil
  • 4 to 5 Vitamin E capsules
  • Few drops of your favourite essential oil (If your skin is extremely sensitive it is recommended to take a heads up from a Dermatologist in Karachi before you use any essential oil on your skin)

After gathering all the ingredients what you need to do is put coconut oil in a mixing bowl. Prick your vitamin E capsules and squeeze their oil in the coconut oil. Now add a few drops of your favourite essential oil. Tea tree essential oil is recommended if you have acne and if you want your moisturiser to be dimly scented you must use lavender essential oil. Mix all of these with the help of a whisk and store in an airtight container. Lather it all over your body whenever your skin feels dehydrated.

2.  Aloe gel moisturiser

Aloe is the one and only natural ingredient that you can never go wrong with. Here is what you will need to make an aloe gel moisturiser:

  • ½ cup aloe vera gel
  • ½ cup rose water
  • ½ cup glycerin

Break an aloe vera leaf from your aloe plant, cut it in the middle. Now scrape aloe vera gel from it and put it in a mixing bowl. You can also use store bought aloe vera gel but it is definitely better to use the natural one if you wish to reap the maximum benefits. Now dump in your rose water in the aloe vera gel. Rose water is what makes this moisturiser smell like heaven. Lastly add your glycerin and give all the ingredients a thorough mix. Store your moisturiser in a clean container. Use it on damp skin every day.
